Colorkrew's way of working - Corona measures and remote work -
Translated from 日本語 • View original

Our work style, which was mainly office work and remote work only about once a week, has changed due to the impact of COVID-19. Since the end of February 2020, I have been working remotely and can go to the office if necessary.

In this article, we will introduce our way of working in such remote work.

Communication Tools

These are the two main tools used for communication in common companies.

Goalous is a tool that allows you to visualize your goals and daily activities. Even if you're apart, you'll know what everyone at Colorkrew is up to. Another good point is that it is shared with photos and images, so that you can visually see how everyone is doing!

We use Teams as a means of chatting and video conferencing.

In addition, depending on the project, I also use other things such as project management tools.

Time and Attendance Management

When you start/finish work, check in/check out at Mamoru Biz. By reading the QR code for remote work, the attendance data is registered in the system.

Clock-in/out information is reflected on the seat map, so you can see who's working at a glance.

You can look at the seating chart to see who is sitting where. [/caption]

In addition, attendance information is also linked to Teams, so you can check your attendance status from there. You can see information such as who, where, and from what time and until what time. This shows working hours, so HR uses it.

Common Rules for Communication When Working Remotely

When we took a questionnaire about remote work, we found that although most people are not doing well, some people find it difficult to do it. For example, "If it's in the office, you know that the other person is there, and if you call them, they will respond immediately, but if you work remotely, you don't know when they will reply." In this way, if you ask for the same things as when working in the office, you will be stressed. I thought it might be necessary to change my mind to some extent, so I decided to send out the mindset and examples along with the minimum rules I want you to follow. I thought that even if they were lined up in a row, they would become skeletons, so I summarized them simply.

Small talk

When you are in the office, you can have a conversation with someone sitting at the same desk, say hello to someone you happen to pass by, and have chance encounters and small talk. However, when it comes to remote work, communication tends to be biased. To deal with this, I created a chat room in Teams. You can participate when you want to take a break, or you can participate when you have a consultation. It is a place where anyone can participate and leave whenever they want.

If You Need to Come to the Office

I have to go to the office for business. There are times like that, right? At Colorkrew, when you come to the office, you first reserve a seat at Mamoru Biz. As a measure against infection, we do this to avoid situations where multiple people sit at the same desk. We also use Mamoru Biz to identify close contacts in the event of an emergency.

In addition, staggered commuting is recommended to avoid rushes when using public transportation. For example, I work from home in the morning, commute to work before noon, come home early when I finish my errands, and work from home again.

The above is an introduction to Colorkrew's work style during the corona disaster. Was our way of working helpful?

Now, in Japan, a second state of emergency has been declared, and a policy has been announced to promote telework and aim to reduce the number of people going to work in the workplace by 70%. At Colorkrew, the number of people coming to the office in 2020 was about 10 people per day.
