Business Trip to Brazil 〜Vol.7〜
Translated from 日本語 • View original

Hello, this is Toshiki Maezawa, who is promoting Work SaaS such as Colorkrew Biz and Colorkrew Intra at Colorkrew.
Colorkrew has been offering Work SaaS in the Brazilian market since 2019. This time, I would like to talk about my first business trip to Brazil and conducting a workshop to plan a new product there.

By the way, I also want to see the lives of the six people who went on a business trip to Brazil before me.

Brazil **seems far away but is close. **

The distance from Brazil to Japan is approximately 17,700 kilometers.

It takes more than 24 hours, including transfers by plane. I had heard stories from other members who went, but in a word, it was "harsh".
I left Japan at night, but I arrived early in the morning in Brazil due to the time difference. That's right, the morning in Brazil that took more than 24 hours is from here. I have known the local members Daniel and Marcelo for a long time, and most of the meetings are online, but we meet face to face once a week. It's strange to see each other once a week, and we know each other's current situation. I arrived in Brazil grateful to be able to work remotely with members on the other side of the world.

Even though it was early in the morning, Daniel, Marcelo, and Marcelo's son came to pick me up, so my fatigue was blown away at once. And when I was with them, I strangely had the illusion that I had lived in Brazil for a long time. Then, I drove Daniel's car from the airport to Daniel's house, and had a traditional Brazilian breakfast with Daniel's family near Daniel's house. After that, I was supposed to stay at Daniel's house during the business trip, so I went to Daniel's house. After arriving, Daniel cared about my physical condition and suggested that I take a shower. It came back to life.

1 hour later Daniel has the title of BBQ professional (just what I'm saying), but Daniel threw me a welcome BBQ party. Daniel's friends also participated, so it was very exciting. I love the Brazilian BBQ prepared by Daniel. The difference between Brazilian BBQ and Japanese BBQ is the meat. Unlike Japan, red meat is the good thing about Brazil. Also, unlike Texas BBQ, you don't overcook good meat. I'm sure Brazilians know how to enjoy the best BBQ in the world.

And finally, I went to watch a soccer game on the first day in Brazil. I think the image of Brazil is soccer, but soccer culture is more rooted than that. If you go to Brazil on a business trip, make sure you don't refuse because they will be sad. I love football, so I really enjoyed it and I understood that it was the best hospitality for them.

At 12 o'clock in the middle of the night, my first day in Brazil was like this. I think 24 hours of travel + 16 hours of welcome party and soccer watching = 40 hours have passed. I almost forgot that I was in Brazil when I went to bed. That's how close Brazil was to me. If you were asked what another sky is for you right now, you would answer São Paulo, Brazil.

Aiming for a successful product from Brazil

I was quite joking, but there are two main purposes for my business trip to Brazil this time: one is to check their business environment and customer situation. The other is to instill through workshops on marketing methods for planning and developing products to promote products from Brazil.

In particular, the latter is very important, and although we are currently able to get contracts continuously in Brazil, we have not been able to grow explosively. Therefore, what the Brazilian team is currently thinking about is to develop products based on what they have cultivated so far, and to try to see what kind of products they can release to attract more Brazilian customers.

By the way, there are two main things that the Brazilian team is selling right now, one of which is SaaS made in Japan in Portuguese. The other is consulting businesses such as OKR, the latter of which they created while suffering, and is now a major feature of the Brazilian team. This time, we are not just selling what Japan has made, but we are trying to create something that reflects what they think in the product.

Now, let's talk about what kind of workshop we did. Overall, it took two days. The first day is about concept making, and the second day is about incorporating specific functional requirements. It was a workshop that kept my head used for a total of 8 hours, so I looked quite tired after it was over.

On the first day, create a concept for a product that sells in Brazil. Colorkrew's product marketing method will be announced to the world someday. I won't go into details in this blog, but the first thing to do is to identify our assets and have them visualize what they are not aware of. Next, we held such a workshop to roughly say what kind of value appeal to what kind of market we can provide to become a valuable product that only we can provide. The answer that came out of the Brazilian team is the value regarding O K R.

Day 2: Narrow down to specific functional requirements and define them. Based on the concept created on the first day, we asked them to think about what specific functions they needed. At first, more than 20 items were listed, but the workshop was completed by narrowing down the important functions to about 3~5 as a practical aspect of development. Finally, everyone took a photo and it was over. Can you convey everyone's confident expressions? We talked about how we could make more money if we could make this product.

A job that can move the hearts of people on the other side of the world. That's what Colorkrew is doing

I never thought that I, who couldn't speak English, would go on a business trip to Brazil and drink with the locals. I want to teach myself 20 years ago.

Colorkrew provides opportunities for each person to expand their worldview. In addition, it is a job that can move the hearts of users on the other side of the world that they will never meet in their lifetime in the PdM and product business positions currently open. If you are even a little interested, start with a casual interview.
