Nice to meet you! My name is YASHIGE, who works as a finance officer at Colorkrew.
One year has passed since I joined Karakul, and I would like to introduce the unique characteristics of Karakul that I have felt over the past year from three points: "people", "organization", and "work style".
"Human" A workplace where colorful human resources gather
As the company name "Color + krew" suggests, the company has a diverse group of people of different nationalities, ages, and backgrounds.
If I had to point out something in common, it would be "roughness".
In a good way, I have the impression that there are many people who are weak and frank.
In terms of nationality, the ratio of foreigners is increasing year by year, and I think you can fully experience globalization. From the United States, Germany, Indonesia, etc. I myself am not good at English, but I am gradually getting used to it through the support and use of tools around me.
There are situations where it is necessary to communicate in English everywhere, but there are many kind overseas members who try to understand the intention even with simple words, so I think I can do it as long as I feel like it (if you are not good at it, studying is essential).
"Organization" Open and open culture

The organization is very open.
All kinds of information, such as business performance, employee salaries, and daily activities, are disclosed within the company, and there is a tendency to welcome remarks and opinions. There is an extremely small information gap and an environment where everyone can express their opinions flatly, so I think the company responds relatively well to suggestions and opinions.
I myself have made proposals in finance-related work that have a wide range of influence and require revision of regulations, etc., but if it is a story that is likely to improve, the consideration proceeds relatively smoothly and positively.
Because of its speed and flexibility in decision-making, we were able to release a new system the month after the proposal. The realization that my opinions can influence the organization is also a great motivation for me personally.
"Work style" Flexible!
There are systems in place to support flexible work styles, such as flex systems and remote work, and I myself come to the office once a month from Kansai, but I basically work remotely.
This is my first time working remotely, but there are many members who work remotely and there is an open culture that welcomes communication, so if you are proactive, you will rarely suffer from the "lack of communication" that you often hear.
In addition, there is an internal SNS tool called "Goulous" to share who is acting towards what goal, so there is also a flow of communication.
On the other hand, while there is a high degree of freedom, it may be necessary to note that actions and results are reviewed at meetings with evaluators called QBRs, which are held every three months, so it is necessary to not only be able to work freely, but also to move autonomously.
Conclusion
It was a year in which I was able to experience embodying the culture of Karakul in all aspects of "people", "organization", and "work style".
I have grown a lot myself by working with colleagues of different nationalities and backgrounds, exchanging opinions in an open culture, and experiencing the process of making my proposals take shape.
I would like to continue to take on further challenges and grow in this environment.
