Hello! This is Yoshioka, who is in charge of sales.
The sales manager who appeared in the blog "Until the burr flat is made (5) - The story of the moment you make it a buri flat~" is a sales manager who starts over from zero sales as a salesperson. This is Makoto Yoshioka, who was deprived of his position as the head of the department.
At the customer's place, this self-introduction invites laughter.
In fact, I took on the challenge of going to Europe as a sales representative for three weeks at the beginning of this year.
At that time, no one expected that an explosive infection of the new coronavirus, which is now raging around the world, would occur...
As I was writing this blog, I began to think that this European experience alone was lacking something.
Why did you suddenly say, "Let me go abroad as a salesperson!" in the first place?
I didn't say it just because of momentum.
There is a long history and conflict that spans five years since Bali Flat started in 2015.
Let's take this opportunity to sort out the contents that we have not been able to convey to our colleagues and family members on a daily basis! I have come to the conclusion that I would like to send it as an extra edition of Barifura.
In the first article, I will write about the challenge to Europe.
■ Reason for visiting Europe
Everything was told on a certain day in November last year by Keishi (under the Companies Act, he is the representative director externally, but internally he is the leader of the management project. It's really a burly flat. lol).
Mahito: Keishi-san! Let me go abroad!!
Keishi: Huh? You can't speak English that much...
Mahito: It's not about ability. It's an experience!
Keishi: ... By the way, where do you want to go?
Mahito: Personally, I want to go to Europe!
Keishi: ...
I don't remember much about what happened after drinking too much, but it seems that it was quite persistent. Laughter
And two days later.
Keishi: Really. It's decided!
Mahito: What is it?
Keishi: Europe. Düsseldorf, Germany!
Mahito: Huh? ・。 Thank you very much...
Keishi: When are you going? Come and go from January.
Mahito: ... There are also customer handovers, logical thinking training instructors, and overseas preparations.
I wonder if it's after next summer...
Keishi: Are you chicked?
Mahito: It's not a chick! I'm going! ! (angry)
A large part of my role is sales. It means going to Europe as a salesperson...
Something like a heavy pressure flowed into me all at once・・・・・・・
■ Preparation for Your Visit to Europe
I immediately started preparing for the following.
- Customer appointments
- Presentations/demos in English
- Takeover of the customer in charge
- Arrangements for hotels/flights, etc.
After all, the first priority is **an appointment! ! ** (Eigyoda mono Makoto)
If this place is not decided, everyone will think, "Why did you go to Europe?"
And next is English, which I don't have confidence in at all...
These two things will overwhelmingly dominate my mind.
How can I describe it?
For the first time as a member of society, I have crossed the limiter of my ability to respond.
I decided to have an online meeting before my visit and was adjusting my schedule.
At the beginning, I always wrote "Hi Tom," but I wrote my name and sent it with my name on it.

Is this possible?
It is at this moment that I feel dazed.
Just one day before, the salesman who asked me to take over sent me an email with the wrong customer's name, and I had just warned him.
**"Okay, the more you are busy, the more nervous you are!" **
I was the one who wasn't sharp...
I realized that I couldn't do what I always took for granted.
While repeating this kind of thing over and over again, I managed to make an appointment before the expedition.
■ Let's visit Europe!
On the occasion of this visit to Europe, GKA was declared/shared with all employees on Goalous.
GKA stands for Goal, Key Result, and Action, and please refer to this for details.

This is a screenshot taken recently, so you can also check the number of Actions and Key Results as achievements.
We managed to achieve 28 visits against our target of 40, but we couldn't achieve our Top Key Result of 1 pre-order.
Isn't the target of 40 visits in 15 business days too high for those who work in corporate sales in the IT industry? You may have thought.
I made an appointment using various means. We also used snack and massage parlors locally. Laughter
Among them, I learned that EuroShop, the No. 1 trade fair in the retail industry, would be held at the time of my stay, so I immediately applied for 100€ for two days.

There was a matching system in the exhibition, and there was a system that allowed not only exhibitors but also visitors to make appointments.
This can go! I increased the target number of cases, but in reality, there were not so many people who appeared on the day.
Is it a sales habit?
From before to during my visit to Europe, I spent three weeks full of appointments.
■ After the visit to Europe
I am really happy to be able to go to four countries, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and France, and in Germany, I can go to three cities: Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, and Cologne, but even after my visit to Europe, **I was never happy! ! **I can't say that.
I think I often said**, "Let me go abroad as a salesperson!"**
To be honest, I was nervous for three weeks and my sleep was quite light. It was painful...
However, I was able to have a very valuable experience, and I am simply grateful to the very kind European customers, everyone who took care of me during my stay, my colleagues at the company and my family.
In order to make use of this experience someday, I will re-evaluate my career vision and the necessary skill sets, and grow firmly.
Now, let's get to the main topic.
Why did you suddenly say, "Let me go abroad as a salesperson!"
There are two things in me.
- To take on your own next challenge (goal)
- Don't be afraid of your abilities and be prepared to jump in first/I want to convey to my friends that passion is more precious than anything else.
Why did you think so? I don't know if it will be conveyed well, but I'll dive in first. Laughter
The second installment goes back to 2016, the year after Bali Flat started, and is titled "SMAP Disbandment"!
See you next!
Bonus
Finally, I would like to list the dazed self-esteem that occurred in the month and a half before and after my visit to Europe as food for my future.
