Do not do labor-intensive business. What is the key to raising your salary?
As I have written in several past articles, "raising salaries" is one of the main purposes of management in my opinion.
Click here for more information on why it is important to raise your salary.
Why Colorkrew Doesn't Do Labor-Intensive Business and Resource-Selling Business
As a company, one of the ideas that I value very much when raising everyone's salary is **to "do as little labor-intensive business as possible."**That's what it is.
Labor-intensive businesses are generally simple labor and low wages. You may have an image that you can't expect to advance in your career.
However, from the perspective of "selling people's resources", even high-level work is a labor-intensive business, even if it is a personal matter or a price structure such as how much it costs in a few hours.
In addition, in the IT industry, where Colorkrew (hereinafter referred to as "Colorkrew") is located, the engineer dispatch business is active.
This is typical of the resource selling business.
At Caracle, we have decided not to engage in a labor-intensive business model with simple labor and low wages and a technician dispatch business "because it does not contribute to the growth of employees."
The exceptions are temporary and high-level personal business (image of consulting) as a vanguard to open up business models, and business in the form of dispatch and secondment to send young people out of the company once and give them important experiences.
By the way, I would like young people who have joined Karakul as new graduates to experience the working style of a general company, and I would like them to be seconded to the latter pattern, but this has never happened so far.
Restrictions on not doing labor-intensive business
However, it is also true that the labor-intensive and resource sales business that Karakul has decided not to do is a relatively easy way to increase the company's performance (profit).
What does it mean to decide not to do this?
First of all, as an individual, if you do the task at hand without thinking too much, you will not have an environment where you can get paid.
As a manager, it is no longer possible to grow the company in a straightforward manner, and the difficulty of growth measures increases.
In the past, there were many moments when I thought, "If we had turned to a labor-intensive business at that time, we might have expanded significantly."
But if you do that, even if some managers get high salaries, you will never be able to become a company with an average salary of more than 10 million yen.
Therefore, Karakul has come this far without doing it with pride.
This is how Colorkrew's salary will be raised!
We are an IT company.
What IT companies can do is create services using the Internet and sell them.
A system that eliminates jobs that get paid for direct labor and generates profits through business models.
And if we expand our services to the global market, we will scale many times over.
In this way, there is no need to increase the number of people as sales increase, so each person's salary will increase sharply.
All IT companies such as GAFAM and Netflix use this model. There is no labor intensive. That's why the salary is high.
Each of them must function at a high level within a global business. This is the condition for continuing to be an employee of Karakul.
Our immediate goal is to thoroughly implement this concept and raise salaries at a global level.
