Nice to meet you. I'm Mochizuki from Colorkrew. I'm currently in my second year as a working adult, and after changing jobs once, I work as a cloud engineer at Colorkrew.
Although I didn't major in information technology at university, I started wanting to work as an IT engineer through job hunting and entered the IT industry.
At the company I joined as a new graduate, I participated in infrastructure design and construction projects utilizing the cloud. However, in reality, I spent more time on document creation and revision than on technical work. Among these, I personally found that organizing technical content and figuring out ways to explain things clearly to others was something I really enjoyed.
At the same time, I also felt the following challenges.
- Less time to engage with technology
- Few opportunities to communicate directly with end users
Still, my interest in technology remained strong, so I continued my studies by obtaining the Basic Information Technology Engineer exam while still in college and earning the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional (SAP) certification as a working adult.
Why I decided to change jobs as a second new graduate
Generally, people often say, "It's better to gain 2 to 3 years of experience before changing jobs," so although I was a bit dissatisfied, I initially planned to gain experience at my previous job. However, after hearing from university and high school friends about young employees being entrusted with big tasks, and participating in AWS's Young Employee LT meetings and realizing the gap in knowledge levels between myself and myself, my desire to "create an environment where I can grow even more" grew stronger. Of course, there is no need to compare myself to others, but the desire to challenge myself in a higher-level environment was a major reason I decided to change jobs.
Amidst all this, I was scouted by Colorkrew through a job search site. After researching the company, I felt that the job duties, corporate culture, and working style matched my expectations very well, so I decided to apply for the selection process.
When choosing a new job, I focused on the following three points.
- Consistently involved from cloud design to operation
- Feeling that the company culture and the atmosphere of the people working here seem to suit you
- Opportunities to communicate directly with customers
While gathering information during the selection process, I started thinking, "If I get a job offer from Colorkrew, I'd like to join the company." The reason was that I felt I met all three of the three criteria I valued.

Actually Joining the Company
When I actually joined, I feel that I have been able to achieve what I expected before changing jobs.
Furthermore, what exceeded my expectations in a positive way was the depth of support from those around me. Not only do they conduct regular one-on-one sessions, but I also receive careful feedback on how to proceed with work and communicate.
I was also surprised by the high level of awareness of each employee's commitment to improving their work.
With perspectives such as "Is there anything that can be more efficient?" and "Are there tasks that can be automated?", improvement activities are carried out daily. I feel that a culture of identifying on-site issues ourselves and solving them with our own hands has taken root.
In such an environment, I am currently mainly responsible for the following three tasks.
- Establishment of internal AWS governance
- Customer support in operational projects
- Automation of internal administrative tasks
Going forward, I plan to increase the number of clients I am responsible for and gain even more experience.

Of course, technical consultations are active during work, but technology topics also naturally come up at drinking gatherings. Many people are happily discussing cloud and new technologies, which has inspired me personally.
Valuing communication
In the operations team, once a week, there is time for the entire team to discuss business improvements. We share challenges and insights from daily work and think together about better operational methods. Also, outside of working hours, we gather in the office and have opportunities to casually communicate over food. Because we can interact across departments and positions, I feel it helps build relationships that are easy to consult about in daily work.
There is a culture where everyone helps those in need together.
What impressed me most after joining was that when someone shared their concerns in internal threads, many members responded immediately. I myself have experience receiving support when I consulted about something I didn't understand, which gave me a sense of security to consult those around me without having to bear it alone.
One of the attractions I felt once again after joining was that they have a culture that values not only technical skills but also connections and cooperation with others.
What I Want to Challenge Going Forward
Going forward, I hope to grow as a cloud engineer with technical skills, while increasing opportunities to communicate directly with customers.
We also aim to acquire the technical skills to actively promote efficiency in internal operations and to proactively support those in need. To that end, we strive to deepen our understanding of the company and operations as quickly as possible and provide greater value.
