Why I chose Colorkrew after challenging myself to pursue a career in Japan
Translated from 日本語 • View original

Introduction

Hello! I'm Dongyun, who works in sales at Colorkrew.

In this blog, I would like to share my own experiences with those who are about to start job hunting.
This is just my personal perspective, but I hope it can be of some help.

Background for Trying to Find a Job in Japan

The reason I decided to work in Japan was because I wanted to take on new challenges as a career and to apply Japanese in my work.
Originally, I started learning Japanese on a personal basis, but since I was at a good opportunity, I wanted to apply it to my work and decided to take on the challenge of finding a job in Japan.

About Job Hunting

After graduating from university, I joined a major foreign-affiliated comprehensive logistics company in South Korea and was involved in business as a sales representative.

Although the working environment was comfortable, one day a question suddenly crossed my mind: "Is it really okay to continue working in Korea as is?" It all started to feel a bit unsatisfying as I walked a stable career while repeating the same tasks every day.

Regarding job hunting in Japan, people around me sometimes told me I should stop, but I thought, 'If I miss this timing, there might not be a next time,' so I decided to give it a try.
Also, I have a strong desire to choose my own life, and I decided to see it through to the end.

Why I Joined Colorkrew

I decided to join Colorkrew because the impressions of the people I met during interviews matched well with what I wanted to do.

The Colorkrew interview was one of the most memorable among all my previous job search experiences.
It was very impressive that they not only asked general questions but also deeply engaged with my values and way of thinking.

I was also attracted by Colorkrew's presence in Korea. I thought I could leverage my experience in business development in Korea.

When I actually spoke with the person in charge of the Korean business during an interview, I quickly opened up and the conversation became lively, and I felt, "If I could work with these people, I could enjoy my job," which was a major deciding factor.

There are various reasons, but I think these two were the most significant.

Looking Back on Joining the Company: An Experience You Can Only Have at Colorkrew

Since I had no prior experience working in Japan, I found it to be much more difficult than I had imagined when I actually started working.
I often feel confused by differences in how work is done, how I communicate, and the nuances of language, so I end up learning every day.

Also, because I had little knowledge about IT, I struggled to understand technical terms. Even now, whenever I don't understand something, I look it up and ask questions to catch up with those around me.

To be honest, there were times when I wanted to run away, and there were times I struggled with whether I should continue in sales.
Even so, I now see this process itself as a major learning experience.

One of Colorkrew's features is an environment where you can ask anyone questions.
It doesn't matter if the partner is a CEO or executive; if necessary, you can consult directly.

Opportunities to regularly receive advice from executives are rare at other companies.
Being exposed to management perspectives and ways of thinking is a tremendous value for my personal growth.

I feel that having such experiences is one of the unique attractions of Colorkrew.

The Future: For Candidates Applying to Colorkrew

I think Colorkrew is an environment where you can take responsibility for what you want to do.
At the same time, you can share your thoughts with those around you and grow while receiving plenty of feedback.

If you find value in that growth process, you'll surely find it rewarding to work there.
If you are even a little interested, please consider applying.
