What I felt as an intern about working at Colorkrew
Translated from 日本語 • View original

Introduction

Nice to meet you! I'm Yano, a 26-year-old graduate who works as an intern at Colorkrew! Before I knew it, it had been more than a year since I started interning...

This time, I would like to introduce what I experienced and felt through my internship.

Why Colorkrew?

Although I started job hunting in 2024, I didn't have a company I wanted to go to, so I was researching companies from above on a certain job hunting site.

That's when Colorkrew caught my eye.

My first impression when I looked at Colorkrew was that

  • Remote and flextime system seems to be easy to work
  • The atmosphere in the company seems to be good.
  • Young people can also work with discretion.
  • The salary seems good (first impression that is a little too honest when I look back now)

I had a pretty good impression.

However, I wasn't very enthusiastic about job hunting, and I had almost no experience in internships or interviews, so I decided to apply halfway.

Selection

I would like to introduce what left a strong impression on me at the time of selection.

First, I had a coding test and an interview.

During the interview, I was given an explanation about Colorkrew and an explanation that I would be interviewed to see if I would be hired as a cloud engineer on the Cloud Integration (CI) team.

I was more interested in Colorkrew's SaaS business, so I was quite worried about being interviewed as a CI engineer. Although I majored in information science, I knew almost nothing about the cloud and said, "Cloud? What exactly are you going to do?" It was a state.

I didn't mean that I didn't want to do CI at all, but I don't know anything, but is it okay on the contrary? At this point, I already thought that it would be difficult to get a job offer.

Despite such concerns, the selection process progressed steadily through the first and second interviews. Through the interview, I was told about the company, the cloud, and CI work.

And at the final interview at the end of October, I received a job offer on the spot.

In the meantime, about a month. It's early.

After the final interview, the president, Mr. Nakamura, asked me, "I'm doing a job offer, what should I do?" If possible, I can go from next month." I answered with two replies, and I really started working as an intern in early November.

It's too early. It's a strange company.

In this way, my job hunting ended successfully.

What I felt after working at Colorkrew

What I feel when I actually work at Colorkrew is

  • People are good
  • Young people are also working at their discretion
  • Capable society
  • Above all, people are good

is.

The first thing I felt was that people are good.

No one has a high-pressure attitude, and when you ask a question, they answer gently without getting angry. Also, it doesn't give you all the answers, but it tells you to look up what you find out by researching it in this way, which will lead to your own growth. There is no nasty hierarchical relationship.

Second, young people are also working with discretion.

Of course, it is because of their ability, but there are also people who work as project owners in their first or second year with the company.

Finally, for better or worse, it is a meritocracy society.

As mentioned earlier, if you have the ability and motivation, your evaluation and salary will increase regardless of your year. The spirit of challenge will be evaluated. On the other hand, if you are not motivated, you will not be evaluated. Therefore, there are many people in Colorkrew who are both capable and motivated.

Perhaps because I am working in this environment, my way of thinking about working has changed considerably.

In the past, I thought that I would like to earn enough money to live without inconvenience, but recently I want to be useful to the people on the team and be evaluated for my skills.

I think this change in mindset is the biggest change since I started working at Colorkrew.

What we do at Colorkrew

The main work at Colorkrew is

  • Business Improvement
  • Assistance related to consignment work requested at the spot

There are two points.

In terms of business improvement, we develop systems to automate operations and maintain and operate existing systems. For tasks requested on the spot, we investigate the cause of alerts generated by the customer's system and modify the system related to the outsourced work.

As for the specific technical scope, many of them are related to cloud and infrastructure, such as Azure, AWS, and Terraform. At first, there were many things I didn't understand because they were all things I had never touched, but recently I have been able to do more and more things on my own.

On a slightly different note, Colorkrew has an in-house party called the "Award Ceremony" held twice a year (June and December). Here, people who have made special contributions to the company's performance are awarded, and at the award held the other day (December 2025), I won a small award.

Mr. Nakamura commented, "We were evaluated for our efforts in projects to improve the efficiency of monitoring operations and resale operations." I was happy to receive the award itself, but more than that, I was most happy to be evaluated as "contributing to the team even a little".

I am very grateful to everyone on the team.

Conclusion

While working at Colorkrew, I feel that I have been able to grow not only technically but also as a person.

And most importantly, it was an opportunity to change the way I think about work.

I'm still immature, so I'll try to grow and become a person who can help the team!

I hope this article will be helpful to those who are thinking of interning or job hunting.
