First Long-term Stay Abroad - Overseas Business Trip Vol.2 -
Translated from 日本語 • View original

I am posting a blog for the first time in about two years, this is Shimizu, an engineer. The last blog I posted was three months after I joined the company. Time has passed since then, and after a year and a half of various experiences, I was given the opportunity to travel to Brazil for three months. This time, I would like to talk about how such a business trip to Brazil was.

Why did you go to Brazil in your second year as a new graduate?

As mentioned above, I am still in my second year as a new graduate. I'm getting used to my job little by little, but there are still many things I don't know. The connection between Colorkrew and Brazil is explained in this blog, but to put it simply, there is a member working as Colorkrew in Brazil. They sell Colorkrew Biz and Goalous to Brazilian companies.

About a year ago, they came on a business trip to Japan. It was there that I met the members of Brazil, worked with them, and got to know each other. After that, my desire to work abroad grew. Suddenly, I half-jokingly said to the president, "I want to go on a business trip to Brazil!", and the conversation progressed quickly, and it was decided to go on a business trip to Brazil. I can't believe that if I talk to him in a bad place, I will be given such a valuable opportunity...!

What did you do in Brazil?

I had never studied abroad before, and I had never stayed abroad for a long time. Filled with expectations and anxieties since joining the company, I went to Brazil!

My mission is to "accelerate market fit in Brazil" . Business in Brazil is getting off the ground, and there is an increasing need to develop features tailored to Brazilian needs. Therefore, my mission was to pick up the needs of Brazil and develop functions suitable for Brazil.

What I felt after researching what kind of functional improvements were actually needed was that it was necessary to understand the specific needs of the country. For example, Brazil is actively developing entrance gates to offices (buildings). I think this is due to the security of Brazil. Colorkrew Biz also has a reception function. It is a function that notifies guests that they have come to the office by receiving a QR code and presenting the QR code. In Brazil, there are various access management systems for offices, and there seemed to be many requests for linkage between these systems and Colorkrew Biz. However, the volume that my business trip will end with that development... I decided to skip it on my business trip this time.

The main thing I did in Brazil was to improve the design. In addition to the above, there were many requests for design improvements in Brazil, and we proceeded with the implementation in consultation with the team in Japan. Goalous' analytics dashboard improvements, which Brazilian customers were particularly looking for. When I heard that the new dashboard I created led to a contract extension, I realized that there was a point in going to Brazil.

What was life like in Brazil?

What I felt the most when I went to Brazil was the goodness of people. The Brazilian team introduced a lot of their friends. All of them were friendly and I felt a different level of friendliness that made them friends right away. I also participated in an exhibition in Brazil once. I can't speak Portuguese for the most time, but the people who visited the booth enthusiastically asked me questions, and when I visited other booths, I felt the difference from Japan in many ways, such as getting coffee and talking for a long time.

We will continue to support the Brazilian team and strengthen our bond through regular business trips. Colorkrew has a global place to play an active role, if you are interested, click here!初めてのブラジル海外長期滞在
