Nice to meet you. This is Ryoya Abe, who joined the company as a new graduate in sales in July. It's been three months since the exciting entrance ceremony. So, I would like to look back on why I chose Colorkrew and what I have been doing for the past three months.

Why Colorkrew?

I joined Colorkrew for three reasons.

Culture of Accepting Challenges

I am conscious of taking on challenges to grow. This is because I had the original experience of being able to expand my potential through challenges during my university days. For example, I was a liberal arts student and had no experience in programming, but I started studying in college and was eventually able to create an app. Also, although I wasn't particularly good at English, I decided to study abroad because I wanted to be able to communicate with people overseas, and as a result, I was able to improve my English skills. Therefore, I wanted to have an environment where I could take on challenges when working. As the spirit of "Open Challenge Kizuna" suggests, Colorkrew was attractive because it has a culture that values challenges.

Global Workplace

I studied abroad in Australia for 10 months. Although it was difficult, I learned a lot by spending time with various people from different countries, and of course my English skills improved. Since it is a language skill that I have acquired, I wanted to make use of it to work if possible. I also began to dream of working with people from overseas. Colorkrew is currently about 25% foreign members. Since we are also working on overseas expansion, it was the perfect company for me who wants to work in a global environment.

Member Atmosphere

I am the type of person who is easily influenced by the environment around me, for better or worse, so I am careful not to be lazy. I have grown up by consciously putting myself in a harsh environment during my baseball club days, internship days, and study abroad days. Also, if there are many members around me who are highly ambitious and caring, I was able to overcome even if it was difficult. Therefore, even after becoming a member of society, I wanted to work in a team with friendly competition towards my ideals and a feeling of supporting each other. In the interview with Colorkrew, I felt that everyone I met was proud and enjoyed their work, and that being with these people would be a good stimulus and expand my potential.

Activities in 3 months

It has been three months since I joined the company in July. I would like to introduce what I have been working on.

July: Start of working life

Due to the international environment, I gave a presentation in English on my first day of joining the company. I was nervous even when giving a presentation in Japanese, but I was worried about whether I would be able to do well in English, but after practicing, I was able to make a presentation that I was satisfied with. After joining the company, there was classroom training and on-the-job training. In the classroom training, students learned manners and basic behaviors as a member of society, and inputted basic knowledge in various areas (in-house services, outsourced services, etc.). What left an impression on me was the training on the difference between students and working adults. This was an opportunity to switch my mindset from a student to a working adult. During the on-the-job training, I deepened my understanding of service while attending business negotiations with my seniors. In addition, one week after joining the company, I participated in the exhibition of our own service, Colorkrew Biz.

August: More and more input

As in the first month, classroom lectures and on-the-job training continue. As a daily task, I exchanged emails with customers and created meeting minutes. Activities will be shared using the company's SNS Goalous. By writing down what I learned and the content of the meeting, my mind was organized and my understanding deepened. I also started studying about IT technology in general and obtaining cloud-related qualifications in earnest. Since the products handled by Colorkrew are related to the cloud, it is necessary to have basic knowledge of IT and understand how the cloud works. At first, there were many words that I didn't understand, but as I progressed in my studies, I gradually became able to understand the technical terms that were thrown around in meetings.

September: Practice Increases

I continued to create meeting minutes and learn qualifications, and started a ro-play about introducing companies and services. By simulating sales activities with employees as customers, you can get used to speaking in front of people and improve the way you explain. I had more opportunities to actually visit companies and participate in exhibitions, so I was able to gain practical experience while making use of what I practiced. I was able to feel small results such as making appointments, and my sales job became more enjoyable. In addition, QBR was performed in the third month. QBR is an acronym for Quarterly Business Review, and every three months, you present your progress and achievements to your evaluators and review your activities. You can get feedback directly from the evaluator, so you can find areas for improvement and issues that can be connected to your next goal.

Work for 3 Months

I had a rigid image of Japanese companies. This is because I have heard stories such as seniority, difficulty in giving opinions, difficulty in returning until the boss leaves, and difficulty in obtaining paid leave. But Colorkrew was different. It is an environment where people in the workplace are close to each other and it is easy to communicate. Many of them are cheerful and friendly, and you can feel free to talk to anyone, regardless of age or position. There is also a culture of mutual support, and if you get results, you will be well evaluated by those around you and the company. Many people are actively using paid leave, so there is no atmosphere where it is difficult to obtain. I myself went on a family trip using my paid leave about a month after joining the company. And as mentioned above, it is made up of multinational members, so you can spend time with people from various backgrounds. I have the opportunity to talk to them in English every day in the office, so I don't forget about them without using English.

インターナショナルランチ

In the three months since I started working at Colorkrew, I have been able to work in the environment I have always wanted. I would like to make an effort to achieve results as soon as possible and give back to the company. First of all, I would like to create a foundation for sales, and eventually aim to become a business person who can demonstrate value with English × sales skills. I think Colorkrew is a company suitable for people who enjoy challenges and who can work together with those around them. If you are interested in this article, please apply! Let's work together!
