People who can't work are more dissatisfied
Translated from 日本語 • View original

I have written several times about how to grow in an organization and develop a career.

▼ Only 3 ways to increase your value https://blog.colorkrew.com/3ways_to_increase_your_value/

▼ The only characteristic common to people who can work https://blog.colorkrew.com/person-who-is-good-at-work/

This time, I would like to write about "people who can't do it" as opposed to how to become a person who can do it.

People who are dissatisfied with the work given to them, and people who do not say

Everyone has probably thought, "I didn't join this company to do this." Or, "My current job is different from what I want to do."

I have worked with hundreds of people inside and outside the company, but those who can do it have something in common.

As I wrote in an article about the commonalities of people who can work, "First of all, do a good job with the work you are given, and then exceed your expectations. " is.

These people are always thinking about how to do the work in front of them at a high level. And those around you will not leave people who are producing such work results.

It is also important to tell them what kind of work they want to do in the future. By telling them that, those around them who are watching their work will always feel like "I want to make this guy do what he wants to do somehow."

On the other hand, people who can't do it have something in common.

That is, "I am dissatisfied with my job". People who can't do it are reluctant to do it, thinking it's a job they don't want to do, so the results are half-baked. Of course, you can't exceed expectations.

Even if you tell those around you what you want for the future, people around you don't want to do it somehow.

Why?

That's because I can't imagine that it will exceed my expectations. The people around you are also human beings, so it's human nature that you don't want to support someone who is always complaining.

It's fun to talk about your grievances!?

Talking about dissatisfaction with the company or boss with colleagues is quite funny.

In the Corona era, there are fewer opportunities to see it, but when you go to an izakaya, it is a common sight to see office workers talking bad about the company and their bosses. Talking about grievances together also creates a sense of camaraderie.

Of course, when you're at a company, it's not all fun, so I think it's okay to be dissatisfied once in a while. But it's a problem that it becomes a daily routine.

In the end, I keep complaining

If you talk about your dissatisfaction, a negative spiral will come around. And you can't get out of it and keep complaining.

On the other hand, if you calm down and realize that "continuing to complain all the time" is not beneficial, and start moving constructively, you will change positively in the future.

How to Turn Dissatisfaction into Opportunity

So how do you become constructive?

As mentioned above, first of all, we aim to achieve results in the given work. Then, for the things you are dissatisfied with, think of ideas to resolve the dissatisfaction.

If you come up with an alternative plan such as "I want to change the way I do things like this" instead of just complaining, the possibility that people around you will listen to you will increase dramatically.

Then, when you take the initiative to change the situation, your level of communication will rise before you know it, and your career will rise to a higher level.

When you are dissatisfied, it can be said that it is an opportunity for growth.
