Hello, I'm from the branding project!
In Tokyo, the number of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) is on the rise again, and people continue to work from home and remotely.
At Colorkrew, we will basically continue to work remotely until August.
It's been two weeks since I returned to work. (I was on maternity leave and childcare leave.) )
I only went to work twice: the first day I went to pick up the computer and the day I needed to pick up the documents.
I miss the days when I worked almost from home and casually chatted with people I passed in the office or in the hallway!

Positive Effects of Small Talk
This time, the theme is "small talk".
As remote work continues and the lack of communication is a concern online, small talk is attracting attention.
There are several effects of small talk.
Emerge new perspectives and ideas
When your thoughts get stuck, many of you may have taken inspiration from a casual conversation.
Also, as you talk, your thoughts that were not coherent may be sorted out.
Chatting brings new perspectives and ideas that you wouldn't have thought of on your own.
Before the new coronavirus epidemic, I played billiards and darts in a space called Joyful Studio, and I would go to the kitchen at lunchtime and after work. I had many opportunities to communicate with people in the company, such as holding parties. I have received work tips many times in places like this.
Building Trust
Whether it's your hobbies, the weather, or your favorite things, just talking about a little thing can help you understand a person's personality.
I don't think it's necessary to talk about personal matters, but I think that a small chat will deepen understanding and empathy and build a relationship of trust rather than just talking about work.
I haven't been able to talk much with the new graduate members yet, so I'd like to talk about various things and explore the characters!

Check your health, psychological state
When you are having a conversation, you can somehow tell a person's health and psychological state by their complexion and tone of voice.
"Oh, I'm not feeling well today." "You look good, but did something good happen?" What?
It is difficult to judge by poor complexion online, so I think small talk is necessary.
By the way, if you are a woman, you will resonate with it, but online meeting tools look pale and dull, right?
When I suddenly see my face, I feel a bit nervous... (crying)
I really want you to improve that!
I'm really worried about buying a light that makes my complexion look beautiful online right now (laughs) [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="800"]

Serious lighting like YouTubers use. Do you need it...[/caption]
Goalous for easy online communication
I wrote a few effects about small talk, but Colorkrew uses Goalous, so it's easy to communicate online! Easy to chat!
I'm curious about how companies that don't use Goalous communicate.
Communicate with Shigoto
At Goalous, we make our goals and actions open to all employees, and we post photos of our individual actions.
You can also react to posts such as likes and comments, making it a tool that makes it easy to communicate online.

Remote work tends to make me feel lonely, but I'm very happy to receive encouragement and comments on my activities!
I also check everyone's posts often.
Sometimes I post using images, but it is more eye-catching to post with a photo of the person himself.
Even if you can't meet them, just look at the photos.
Conversations other than Shigoto are also Goalous
In addition, Goalous allows you to use the circle function to chat outside of work.
Recently, iTweet has been on the rise.
・I don't need to take action, but I want to share it with everyone ・Things that have risen/decreased my tension ・Things I want to blurt out for the time being ("I'm hungry...", "I want to go out for a drink...", etc.)
It is a circle where you tweet and chat like Twitter!

Other circles have things like this.
Colorkrew Zoo♪
We Love NBA
Spicy Food Heaven
Golf
NIHONGO WAKARANAI
Kouhei Shinrikyo
I Love ♡ Ice
I want to drink after work
Fighting game club
THE Universe
Let's speak in Kyushu dialect
And so on. There are quite a few mysterious circles (laughs).
You can freely participate in the open circle, and everyone seems to have a fun conversation there.
Create a place where you can chat even when working remotely
In addition, Colorkrew also has chat time in addition to Goalous.
Before and after the meeting
Instead of gathering at the right time and entering the meeting immediately, we began to gather and chat 5 minutes before it started.
Or round up early and use the remaining 5 minutes as chat time.
This way, the meeting can start more peacefully than when you didn't do anything~.
Breakout Sessions
Colorkrew holds morning meetings every Monday.
There, we share the progress of each project and other communication matters, and after the morning meeting, we used the Zoom breakout to make time for a few people to chat.

Since you will be randomly assigned, you will have a pounding time to know who to talk to.
When I work remotely, I don't have the opportunity to talk to people other than the project, and it takes a lot of courage to talk to people online, but thanks to this time, I was able to talk to various people!
Chat Time
Thinking that lack of communication would indirectly affect the team, Kiyo of human resources suggested small talk time. We decided to divide the members into teams of 5~6 people and create a place for experimental communication.
Talk to team members for 30 minutes during work hours
Topics to talk about are topics from the all-staff meeting (feel free to talk about achievements, projects, English, etc.)
It seems that this was also quite exciting, and some groups voluntarily held it twice.

It was before my return, so I secretly hope ♡ that it will be held again
A good mood is also necessary for online communication
Whether online or offline, it's important to always be in a good mood.
When you are working, you definitely have to relate to someone, so I think it is important to be easy to talk to.

Why don't you start chatting online today?
