3 things I felt after joining Colorkrew as a new graduate
Translated from 日本語 • View original

I joined the company as an engineer in April. The new world of work was full of challenges. It's been four months since I joined the company, and I'll look back on three things I've felt in this short period of time.

3 Awareness

A Series of Challenging Challenges

Since joining the company, I have faced many challenging challenges. The first few weeks were all about getting used to the atmosphere of the company and the work process, but after that, I gradually started to think more about how to overcome this, based on my previous experience.

The challenges I face at work are both opportunities for me to acquire new skills and food for my personal growth. Specifically, the challenging challenges I faced were "communicating technically with customers" and "implementing a small-scale system myself". These issues made me realize that if I communicate with customers without considering the gap in technical knowledge, I can confuse the other party, and that if the requirements are not defined sufficiently, I will encounter unexpected problems in the process of implementation. From these realizations, we were able to reflect on how to communicate with customers in a concise and easy-to-understand manner, and how to define requirements to clarify goals and specifications before implementing the system, which has been a source of growth since then. Every time I face a challenge, I feel like my limits are being tested (and those limits are very shallow and come quickly), but each time I gain new knowledge and reflection, and I am able to hone my skills.

No Easy Work

There is no such thing as an easy job. Any task always requires effort and concentration. Even tasks that seem "easy" at first may have unexpected pitfalls and require collaboration with others, both inside and outside the company.

As you experience many of these things, the way you approach your work will change little by little. Because there is no easy job, you are required to face each task seriously and make the most of what you can do now. As a result, I have been able to connect every work and experience to my own growth.

Team Support and Cooperation

One of the things I've felt in my work so far is the importance of team support and cooperation. Challenging challenges cannot be solved by taking on everything alone. It is important to communicate closely with team members and senior engineers and ask for help. I was not good at this, but I think I've been asking for help little by little lately. This is partly because there is a culture of cooperation in the workplace, and when you are in trouble, you can immediately ask for help.

Colorkrew is a challenging environment where you can be entrusted with things you have no experience with, but if you ask what you don't understand, you will be answered immediately, and even if you make a mistake, you will have peace of mind that you will be followed. It is precisely because of this environment that even new graduates can take on challenges and grow. I feel very lucky to be able to work in such an environment.

Future Goals

Based on the experience gained over the past four months, I can now see my future goals. First, I want to further improve my own skills and be able to handle more complex challenges. In addition, we will actively raise our hands to places where you can experience various technology stacks, not just one place. I would like to actively learn and absorb regardless of the type of cloud, front-end, or back-end technology, and contribute to the company while feeling the joy of creating.何かあれば助けてくれる先輩や仲間たちとランチ
