What is SXSW (South by Southwest)?
Interactive, Film, and Music, it is a world-class conference and festival held in Austin, Texas, USA.
When Twitter and Airbnb were startups, they won awards at SXSW and became famous. This is the most exciting event where you can quickly catch the services that will become popular in the world.
In 2017, it is scheduled to be held on March 10th (Friday) ~ 19th (Sunday). Last year, three people from ISAO left for SXSW, and three new people have decided to go on a business trip this year as well!
Oh my God, I am also a member of the team this time, and I decided to start writing a blog from the preparation stage in order to let more people know the charm of SXSW, which is still unfamiliar in Japan.
Meet the Participating Members

ISAO's proud Yumen designer. I don't just design a picture designer, I design a UX (experience). At SXSW, I plan to participate in design conferences and workshops.
- Nisshi
A young handsome engineer. I'm a little bad at English, but I'm studying! What I was interested in at SXSW was a session called "A New Normal: User Security in an Insecure World" in which Yahoo's Chief Information Security Officer also participated.
I'm making a two-factor authentication service Mamoru, so I hope to get something there that will lead to enhanced security.

This year, in order to focus on public relations and PR, SXSW plans to listen to sessions focusing on branding and marketing. ISAO and Mamoru also want to appeal.
Preparation Part 1

Preparation Part 2
The next thing you need to arrange is the inn! During the event, people from all over the world gather, so be sure to secure your accommodation early. There is also talk that nearby hotels will be full in February...
We decided to rent a house in Austin on Airbnb because the hotel price was too high & we wanted to enjoy the local life! If you go with multiple people, I think it's more reasonable than a hotel.
And you also need a plane ticket. We will go through Dallas to Austin. As the time approaches, the seats will be filled and higher, so it would be wise to hold it down early.
If you make this arrangement for the time being, you can go to SXSW.

Pick up other things you think you need

Even if you don't buy it, it seems that there is a rental now. It depends on the size, but it seems to be about 6~7,000 yen in 10 days.

If you go with multiple people, each conference you want to listen to may be different. It is recommended to bring Wi-Fi from Japan so that you can contact them via IP address or LINE.
