Good morning. This is the Miyashita of infrastructure.
This section shows how to restore the backup data obtained in Mondo Rescue last time.
Table of Contents
Introduction
I will run it until I take a backup, but in a physical environment, it is difficult to verify until the restoration, so I think it is wise to restore it thoroughly first. The cloud is good in that area~ ♪
It would be better to output the backup to NFS first, but this time due to the convenience of the network environment and limited work time.
I chose the method of local output and restore from DVD media.
Burn the ISO image you created last time to the DVD.
As for writing to DVDs, I have always used DeepBurner.
Restoration Implementation
Insert the DVD media and start the server.
When the mondo OS is launched, a "boot:" prompt will appear, so select the method from the bottom.
| nuke | Fully automatic restore. Just watch and it's over. Care is required as the original data will be completely erased. |
| interactive | Restore interactively. Select when specifying customization or ISO on NFS. |
| expert | Launch the shell prompt. If you want to implement fdisk or something like that, click here. |
This time, everything will be automatically restored. In fact, I didn't do anything other than type "nuke".
If it was one DVD media (about 4GB), the restoration was completed in 30 minutes.
If the DVD drive burn speed is 24x, the whole process will be completed in about 1 hour.
As for future usage, such as storing ISO data on AWS.
How to use it on the cloud (private because you can make an AMI)
I would also like to compare it with other commercial software.
Also, "Mondo Rescue" does not support UNIX, so you can use Solaris to make it more comfortable in addition to ufsdump
I would like to find a way to do it.
