I participated in Microsoft Inspire 2018 (a Microsoft partner event) held in Las Vegas, USA from July 15 to 19, 2018. With our dread (Ishihara).
What is Microsoft Inspire?
To put it very simply, it is an event to share Microsoft's strategy for the new year for partner companies sales and marketing.
During the period, there will be a number of Corenote (keynote speeches) in the morning and breakout sessions in the afternoon. The event brings together more than 17,000 partners from more than 140 countries around the world, so exchanges between partners are also active.
With some impressions of what was talked about in Corenote, etc., mainly in Azure. By the way, I myself have been participating since 2015, so this is my fourth time participating.
The relationship between ISAO and Microsoft is mainly around Azure as a so-called cloud integrator, and I have the impression that the volume of talk in that area is increasing year by year.
As a big message this time, we have cleared the initial stage of cloud transformation, and let's promote digital transformation in this way! I received it.
Azure 93% growth
It seems that the business has expanded significantly following the previous year.
It was a year in which I felt that the number of users who started using Azure 1-2 years ago had increased significantly, and that so-called major companies were starting to use Azure.
Microsoft's sales of about $100 billion, a $1 trillion economy with Microsoft and partners
I knew about it, but I thought it was a large economic zone again. In terms of economic zones, including partners, it is about 1/5 of Japan's GDP (gross domestic product), which is about the same as Indonesia's GDP.

The first three were mainly about Office365 and Dynamics365, and I had the impression that the content was close to what is called "work style reform" in Japan. ISAO is mainly engaged in the Azure area, so I am interested in Application & infrastructure and Data & AI.
Last year, there were various active developments, such as the increase in the number of VMs that can handle various applications such as GPUs and SAP, the enhancement of services such as AKS to support DevOps, the enhancement of tools for migration, the deployment of not only DB and SQL but also OSS-based databases, and the emergence of Azure's own DB services such as CosmosDB.
Also, I'm excited about the Cognitive-based services that Microsoft has been researching and developing for many years, and it's making it possible to do things that we couldn't do with technology before.
Although ISAO is mainly focused on the PoC (proof-of-concept) phase, the number of actual projects is increasing, and this is an area that we would like to focus on in the future. Of course, there is talk of IoT systems, and it seems that they will invest 5 billion dollars. What I was personally concerned about was the EOS relationship, which is quite business-wise...!
