Following AWS's re:invent in November last year, this time we are participating in Microsoft's Build.

What is Build?
This is Microsoft's conference for software developers. This year, the United States will continue to be held at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, Washington, from May 7th to 9th.
For information on what to do from departure from Japan to arrival at the venue, I think the article of Akagawa, who is coming with me, will be helpful.

There were various announcements this year as well. In particular, many of them were related to AI and IoT, and it seemed that they would provide new services that combine AI in devices such as clouds and drones, rather than just a server + application combination.
For example, AI for Accessibility
A project to support people with disabilities using AI. In this demo, AI that transmits visual information directly by voice, AI that follows the line of sight and inputs on the keyboard, AI that translates conversations in real time, etc. To achieve this, Microsoft seems to be investing $25 million in a five-year plan for developers. Last year, there was a demonstration to suppress the trembling of the hands of patients with Parkinson's disease, and it shows that they are actively investing in the potential of AI.
For example, Azure IoT Edge
By partnering with DJI, a major drone company, the data collected by drones will be available on Windows 10 and an SDK for remote control will also be released. This allows developers to develop applications that remotely control drones and stream collected data in real-time. In the demo, it was a drone equipped with AI programmed on Azure. It is a system that marks problem areas in yellow from the image of the pipe taken by the drone, and users can check from the video transmitted in real time. Will these things be useful in places where people cannot enter, such as nuclear power plants and disaster areas?
Others
I can't introduce them all here, but there are other apps for Remote Assist and Microsoft Layout added to HoloLens, and Microsoft 365 has a meeting minutes AI that takes care of it, and Cortana can call each other from Cortana to Alexa or from Alexa. About Azure

Visual Studio Live Share was in preview.
It seems to be a tool where multiple developers develop code while looking at the same view. The parts that have been modified are shared with the other party in real time, so it would be better if you were developing as a team. (There was a similar one on AWS.) It has also announced a partnership with Github.
AKS
Azure Container Service has been renamed to Azure Kubernetes Service.
CosmosDB
CosmosDB, NoSql, now supports multi-master writes. It seems to support writing in multiple regions.
Conclusion
Since it was for development, there were many services that I didn't usually deal with, but I feel that technology is changing the world. As an infrastructure engineer, it has been said for quite some time that we cannot make a living as it is, so I will try to think about the future of the cloud while receiving various stimuli.
