This is Nisato from a new liberal arts graduate infrastructure engineer. I started working as an employee this spring. However, I have actually been an intern since August of the previous year. Before joining the company
When I was a student, I originally studied economics, but I somehow decided to become an engineer. I started studying on my own, and somehow I was able to create a simple application consisting of a web server and a DB server. In that state, I started job hunting and met Colorkrew.
It started with a casual interview with a human resources person. He had a warm atmosphere (Mr. Koshiba), so I remember that it was easy to talk to. So I decided to actually go to the interview and had the first interview. Here I was asked about the basics. What you worked hard and what you struggled with when you were a student, etc. I finished the first interview in a friendly atmosphere from beginning to end. In the second interview, I was asked to share the actual work I was entrusted with. I think it was good that I was able to understand the flow after joining the company here. One week later, you will have a final interview with the executives, including the president. I was nervous for a while, but I thought it was important to be honest about what I wanted, so I tried to show myself as I was. Eventually, you will receive a job offer and start interning.

Interns
The first month was during summer vacation, so I went to work at work. The first task I was entrusted with was to improve the work of the office. Originally, everything from data acquisition to calculation and invoice creation was done by hand. I was given the task of creating a tool to delegate the task to the machine as much as possible. Through internships, I was able to experience the work that engineers are required to do, such as listening to stories from people involved, combining resources that can be used, and responding to requests. After the summer vacation, I took classes and interned remotely. I was able to work with relatively flexible hours, so I worked while thinking that it was more profitable than a part-time job. Also, it wasn't difficult to consult with me just because it was remote, and it was easy to work because I was always able to answer any problems.
3 months after becoming a full-time employee
The number of peers increased, and from April I welcomed a new life with a new feeling. I am grateful that having a classmate allows me to talk about things and things that I can't usually talk about at work. Also, having a hard peer makes me feel like I'm going to do my best. In terms of work, I have more things to entrust to me, and I am busy but fulfilling. What I try to do here is (1) to be honest, (2) to agree on expectations, and (3) to set a deadline. I learned that following these three principles makes it easier for my work to proceed smoothly. That's all for the serious story. I think Colorkrew is a lot of fun. First of all, there are only good people. People of all ages are all pleasant people. Because it is such a workplace, there is no debuff when you are working, and you can work freely. Also, if you eat out with your colleagues, there is a half-price subsidy, and there is a voluntary dinner party (sushi pizza, etc.) in the office every other Friday, so there are many opportunities to talk to various people. And since all the people are pleasant, it's easy to participate, and there's no problem at all if you go home at any time you want. It's super free.
And I think it's a company where you can do what you want to do. We have excellent human resources and multiple services, so as long as it has a positive impact on the company, there is an environment where you can challenge what you want to do. My example is like this. In the first place, an infrastructure engineer is not just about creating the foundation of an application. In order to provide a stable service, it is necessary to consider how to implement and how to operate it. I believe that DevOps and security are the keys to solving this problem, and they are skills that you should have as an infrastructure engineer. Therefore, I wanted to become an engineer who is familiar with DevOps and security as my main infrastructure and secondary weapons. I used to work only on infrastructure, but by conveying the above thoughts to those around me, I was able to get involved in DevOps and security. I feel fulfilled by playing a role that I recognize as something I should do. To sum up, there is no need to hold back because there are good people, and on the other hand, it is an environment that is considerate. There is also an environment where you can demonstrate your abilities and take on further challenges. If you want to start as a new graduate, I recommend it.
